BCI Horizon Scan Report 2023

BCI introduces the 2023 BCI Horizon Scan Report. This year’s report falls at a critical point. Organizations are facing new challenges and, even now, ‘post-COVID’ seems a term of the past. That said, organizations are still facing legacy challenges related to COVID-19 which is best exemplified by [occupational] health incidents causing more disruptions to organizations globally than any other type of incident. Organizations are still battling with the challenge of ensuring a productive, yet nurturing, working environment, while others are allowing staff to ‘work from anywhere’ with little regard for work-area risk assessments.

The report uses survey responses and structured interviews with senior resilience professionals to provide an in-depth analysis of this critical area.

"SNAPSHOT” Organizational Resilience Capability Assessment from ICOR

Between November 2022 and June 2023, ICOR provided global organizations the opportunity to complete a “SNAPSHOT” Organizational Resilience Capability Assessment to help them to better understand what is meant by organizational resilience versus the more operational view of resilience, as well as to give them an idea of how they measure up against other organizations globally.

Because building resilience must be intentional, measuring current capabilities is an essential first step in the process. ICOR’s Organizational Resilience Capability Assessment (ORCA) tool is meant to be used by organizations to measure to what extent they demonstrate the capabilities and behaviors present in more resilient organizations. The ORCA capabilities are organized into 5 Dimensions supported by 17 Strategies.  Each Dimension contains the Strategies and Capabilities related to the general criteria of that Dimension.
