Two free tools for small business owners for short and long term planning for enduring severe weather events has been released by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS).
“No matter where in America they are located, small businesses face a significant risk from severe weather events. The good news is with some basic, thoughtful planning, these risks can be managed, reduced and often prevented from becoming true disasters,” said Gail Moraton, IBHS business resiliency program manager. The two tools include a business continuity tool and a severe weather emergency preparedness and response planning toolkit, which walks business owners through a chronological checklist of actions to be taken before, during and after the event.
