A survey from IronNet has sought to gather numbers on the impact of the SolarWinds attack across multiple nations, according to an article in TechRepublic. Gathering information from security IT decision makers in the US, UK, and Singapore, the results indicated that roughly 85% of the 473 respondents noted at least some impact, with 31% being significantly affected. In terms of financial impact, an average estimated cost to a company of $12 million was identified.
Many respondents also identified the SolarWinds attack as a key point in increasing willingness to share information about cyberthreats within the industry, with 81% indicating they are now more likely to share. Growth in sharing between companies and governments also increased, with 50% of respondents indicating they had started sharing information with government leaders.
