While business continuity plans should always consider a wide range of threats, the idea of needing to consider the potential for a pandemic has often been low on the list. However, as recent event have shown, something being unlikely is not the same as something being impossible. With this notion in mind, it may be time for your organization to revisit their business continuity plan to ensure its current and up to date.
When revising your business continuity plan, be sure to:
· Identify critical assets;
· Engage relevant team members;
· Publicize the plan within the organization;
· Perform simulations and exercises to confirm the plan’s effectiveness; and
· Set up regular reviews, to continuously revise the plan for new conditions.
