The Comeback Kid: What a Canadian airport can teach us about resilience

In a piece for Fast Company, Mark Carbonelli, chief human resources officer at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, says being transparent and consulting with staff were two things that helped Toronto’s Pearson airport recover from some recent challenges.

The airport had faced airline delays, lost baggage, staff shortages, a rough winter storm and media coverage that proclaimed “chaos” – all leading to struggles with employee morale and public perception. But despite all this, Pearson was recently named one of Canada’s best employers for 2024 – so how did they bounce back?
