Info-Tech Research Group’s blueprint, called Build an Information Security Strategy, offers a structured approach for security and IT leaders to help them align their security initiatives with their business objectives.
“The rapid pace of technological change is a call to action for information security leaders. Too often, security leaders find their programs stuck in reactive mode, as years of mounting security technical debt take their toll on the organization,” says Kate Wood, practice lead, Security and Privacy at Info-Tech Research Group. “Shifting from a reactive to proactive approach has never been more urgent, yet it remains a daunting task.”
To help it be less daunting, the blueprint offers a clear path leaders can take to create a holistic approach to information security.
“When building a security plan, don’t just follow best practice frameworks,” explains Wood. “Only a proactive information security strategy, one that is holistic, risk-aware, and aligned to business needs, can help navigate the changes ahead.”
