Moving Forward: If you’re not constantly reviewing your incident response plan, you’re falling behind.

While the percentage of companies with an incident response plan continues to grow, these same organizations need to remember that just having a plan isn’t enough. Instead, with threats constantly evolving, any plan you may have should undergo constant checks and revisions, to ensure it is as current as possible, according to Fed Tech.

When reviewing your plan, don’t forget to consider the following key concerns:

  • Does your plan identify critical data and systems?
  • Has it been updated to consider new and emerging threats?
  • Does it consider the need for an external incident response specialist?
  • Is the list of key contacts up to date?
  • After each incident, do you revisit the plan?

By regularly performing such reviews, you can help to ensure your incident response plan is fully up to date, and will be of assistance to those who rely on it when it’s needed.
