Ensuring Insurers

After Hurricane Matthew, the effects are still being felt, with research and consulting firm CoreLogic estimating somewhere between $4 billion and $6 billion in damages, according to The News Observer. As a result, insurance providers are looking to beef up their staffing numbers to assist in the processing of claims in North Carolina. Speaking for State Farms, representative Michal Brower talked about the insurer bringing in over 130 members of their catastrophe response team, noting “they are deployed to areas with the most damage first. They’re all over … the impacted areas.” Comparably, Nationwide released a statement announcing the intent to “bring more claims representatives to areas with the greatest concentration of damage.” With both insurance providers indicating roughly 4000 claims as of October 11, this expansion in resources will allow for speedier resolutions.
