Cyber Crime Waves
The threat of ransomware continues to be a concern for both large and small organizations, although the exact extent of the problem remains unclear. To assist in getting a clearer picture of the issue, Sentinel One has assembled the results of a survey related to ransomware and organizational threats and responses. Among the findings are the following:
- 48 per cent of respondents indicated their organization had experienced a ransomware attack in the last 12 months.
- Of those who had experienced a ransomware attack, 81 per cent indicated the attacker gained access through phishing either via email or social media.
- 85 per cent of those attacked indicated they were able to identify the ransomware attacker.
- 54 per cent of respondents agreed that there was a lack of trust in traditional cybersecurity techniques.
Additional details are provided, broken down by location, organizational size, and business sector, providing a useful set of metrics by which organizations can be compared.
