Changing Businesses: Goals for business continuity have undergone significant changes in recent months

Security is increasingly defining the nature of business continuity plans. While it’s still critical to plan for other disruptions to an organization’s smooth operation, it won’t much matter if your company can’t protect its critical data and assets. With cyberthreats rising, and the growth in offsite employees creating additional potential points of access and attack for hackers, any business continuity plan needs to start by ensuring the most robust possible security strategy.

Writing for Forbes, Damian Ehrlicher, CEO of Protected IT, offers a list of key security considerations to review. Varying by industry, this list includes both widely applicable topics like endpoint or application security, while also considering more specific targets like health care data security or smart home security.  Additionally, a breakdown is provided for how to best identify key resources and functions, to identify areas most requiring redundancy and robustness.
