Another Type of Virus: Keeping Aware of Scams and Hacks In The Face of COVID-19

During times where employees working from home can be distracted by worry about current events, as well as struggling with a changed workspace, it’s easy for cybersecurity to be unintentionally compromised. An article by law firm Haynes and Boone LLP in Lexology details some areas to watch for when securing your company’s cybersecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Educate and equip your employees with the education, software and the information they need to properly guard against cyberattacks.
  • Set up remote workspaces correctly, with VPNs and multi-factor authentication.
  • Keep an eye on network traffic and incident response plans, revising where necessary for remote employees. Also consider revising existing policies to better safeguard remote work.
  • Support the IT department, adding more staff if necessary.
