All Together Now: Canadian government seeks national input on emergency management strategy

As part of its commitment to keep Canadians safe and improve the country’s resiliency, the government of Canada is seeking feedback on emergency management.

Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Minister Responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, announced the launch of a targeted engagement initiative with a range of partners and stakeholders, including provinces and territories, non-governmental organizations, Indigenous leaders, voluntary and youth organizations, the private sector, academia, and more. As part of the initiative, the government is inviting anyone who works in the emergency management field in Canada to share their thoughts online, with the submissions portal open until March 31, 2024.

“The effects of climate change are having a significant impact across Canada and it’s necessary to explore options to bolster our national readiness posture in a collaborative way,” Sajjan said.
“The Government of Canada looks forward to working with partners and stakeholders in the coming weeks to better understand how we can collectively improve our approach to emergency management to effectively respond to emergencies across the country.”
