A Resilient Brew

Breweries across America are joining together to raise funds for the Camp Fire relief efforts, locally brewing a recipe originally developed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. This recipe, for the Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, is expected to be available for sale by December 17th, and has already seen over a thousand breweries sign up for fundraising.

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is based in Chico, California, just to the west of Paradise. Says Sierra Nevada founder Ken Grossman of the fundraising effort, “We know that the rebuilding process will take time, but we’re in this for the long haul.” Grossman also noted “Our hope is to get Resilience IPA in taprooms all over the country to create a solid start for our community’s future.” Sierra Nevada has also stated on their site that they “are working with malt, hop and yeast suppliers to provide raw ingredient donations to all participating breweries and are asking those breweries to donate 100 percent of their sales to the fund, as well.”

In addition to the Resilience IPA effort, Sierra Nevada has also seeded a relief fund with $100,000, in association with the Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation.
