With large scale changes to how employees interact with company services and servers being driven by COVID-19 and the shift to working from home, IT departments are revisiting how to best integrate security into their day-by-day processes.
Looking to help guide this integration, a recent white paper from HardenStance, titled “Cyber Security After the Pandemic”, points to four importance considerations:
- Ensuring security is embedded in the corporate culture, directly through both the CISO position, and through preparation of cybersecurity response plans and regular training games
- The integration of increased security management tools into remote access methods
- Growth of segmentation and micro-segmentation for both data and applications on personal devices
- Increased focus on combating ransomware attacks, including the potential extension of Know Your Customer (KYC) transparency rules to cryptocurrency, to remove the untraceable nature of transactions
