IT Pro Portal has put together a list of key events and trends that have defined the last year for the IT industry, and offered some predictions as to what will define 2016.
The trends seen as defining 2015 were:
•The increased off-siting of core infrastructures
•The mainstream awareness of Advanced Persistent Threats (APT)
•The growth of the Internet of Things (IoT)
•The emphasis on the need for IT to secure more than the perimeter
Among other items, the predictions for 2016 call for:
•Increased integration of development and operations
•The occurrence of a major security breach in cloud services
•Emphasis on the development of security for the Internet of Things
•Further mergers and acquisitions within the tech industry.
